McCain Has Voted 119 Times On Pro-life Measures

McCain on Abortion:

McCain has stated that he believes personhood begins at the moment of conception and that embryos should be afforded full human rights.

In June 1984, McCain voted for H.AMDT.942, the Siljander amendment, to H.R.5490, "An amendment to define "person" as including unborn children from the moment of conception".

In 1999, McCain said of Roe v. Wade, "I'd love to see a point where it is irrelevant, and could be repealed because abortion is no longer necessary. But certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations."

However, on February 18, 2007, McCain stated, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned." McCain has said he supports amending the U.S. Constitution to ban abortion, except in cases of rape, incest, or risk to the mother's life.

McCain has voted 119 times on pro-life measures in the Senate including co-sponsoring the Federal Abortion Ban.

McCain has a consistent 0 percent rating from the Pro-Choice group, NARAL, and a 75% rating from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC).

37% Say Palin Is Qualified

In advance of tonight’s vice presidential debate, fewer than four-in-ten (37%) Americans say Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president if necessary, while a majority (63%) say her opponent, Joe Biden, is qualified for the job.

More than half (52%) viewed Palin as qualified in early September.

Women are slightly less likely than men to view Palin as qualified. Both Palin and Biden are viewed favorably by a majority of Americans, but while views of Biden have remained virtually unchanged over the past month, the number of people viewing Palin unfavorably has risen from 32% to currently 40% as views have become increasingly polarized along partisan lines.

Be Safe - Track Hurricane Gustav and TS Hanna Right Now-

Right now you can track Hurricane Gustav direct from the National Hurricane Center.

Here is the latest information about the National Hurricane Center issuing advisories on Hurricane GUSTAV and TS HANNA.

Storm Update

More about the National Hurricane Center:

The U.S. National Hurricane Center, located at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, is the division of National Weather Service's Tropical Prediction Center responsible for tracking and predicting the likely behavior of tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes.

When tropical storm or hurricane conditions are expected within 36 hours, the center issues the appropriate watches and warnings via the news media and NOAA Weather Radio. Although an agency of the United States, the World Meteorological Organization has designated the NHC as Regional Specialized Meteorological Center for the North Atlantic and eastern Pacific. As such, the NHC is the central clearinghouse for all tropical cyclone forecasts and observations occurring in these areas, regardless of their effect on the US. Source: wikipedia
