The Day the World's Most Beautiful Actress Died

Pier Angeli (June 19, 1932 – September 10, 1971) was an Italian-born actress.

During the 1960s and until 1970, Angeli lived and worked in Britain and Europe. Few of her films during that period were notable, despite a strong performance opposite Richard Attenborough in The Angry Silence (1960). She was reunited with Stewart Granger for Sodom and Gomorrah (1963), in which she played Lot's wife. She had a brief role in the war epic Battle of the Bulge (1965).

1968 found Pier in Israel, top billed in Every Bastard a King, about events during that nation's recent war, but steady work was eluding her. It seemed as if her acting career might revive when she was picked to play a role in The Godfather, but she died soon before filming.

At the age of 39, despondent and lonely, Angeli was found dead of a barbiturate overdose.Reports vary as to whether the overdose was accidental or intentional.

She is interred in the Cimetière des Bulvis, in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, France.

Celebrities Killed By Drugs

Anissa Jones co-star of "Family Affair"

The word "overdose" implies that there is a safe dosage; therefore, the term is commonly only applied to drugs, not poison. Drug overdoses are sometimes caused intentionally to commit suicide or as self-harm, but many drug overdoses are accidental and are usually the result of either irresponsible behavior or the misreading of product labels.

Drug overdose often happens as a result of the use of multiple drugs with counter indications simultaneously (for instance, heroin/certain prescription pain medications and cocaine/amphetamines/alcohol.) Usage of illicit drugs that are of unexpected purity, in large quantities, or after a period of abstinence can also induce overdose. Cocaine users that inject intravenous can overdose accidentally as the margin between an optimal flash and an overdose is small.

A common unintentional overdose in young children involves multi-vitamins containing iron. Iron is a component of the hemoglobin molecule in blood, used to transport oxygen to living cells. When taken in small amounts, iron allows the body to replenish hemoglobin, but in large amounts it causes severe pH imbalances in the body. If this overdose is not treated with chelation therapy, it can lead to death or permanent coma.

Increase In Cocaine and Opiate-Related Fatal Overdose

"Drug Overdose"(OD)

The term drug overdose (or simply overdose or OD) describes the ingestion or application of a drug or other substance in quantities greater than are recommended or generally practiced. An overdose is widely considered harmful and dangerous as it can result in death.

With the increase in fatal drug overdose, these are a few article's that we uncovered that will help you learn about the risk's from taking drug's.

It's also important to note that while crime and drug's have increased in the U.S., there are more and more effort's in place to combat these issue's. But more anti-drug program's are needed.

Drug Reactions:

IF SOMEONE GETS TENSE AND PANICKY:
This can occur with LSD, magic mushrooms, speed, and ecstasy.

Calm them and be reassuring;
Explain that the feelings will pass;
Steer them clear of crowds, noisy music and bright lights;
If they're hyperventilating (over-breathing) encourage them to relax, and take long, slow, deep breaths.

IF SOMEONE GETS DROWSY:
This is a risk with tranquillisers, heroin, alcohol and solvents.

Dial 999 and call an ambulance immediately;
Keep them awake, but do not shake them hard or startle them, especially if they have been using glue or other solvents;
Place them in the recovery position (see later in this article) and talk to them;
Never give coffee to rouse them. This can make the drug in them work even faster.

Note: NEVER drink and take any drug, and NEVER mix prescription drug's.

The Tragic Death of Anissa Jones at 18.

Mary Anissa Jones (March 11, 1958 – August 28, 1976) was an American child actress best remembered as "Buffy" on CBS's Family Affair. She died of a drug overdose at the age of 18.

On August 28, 1976 after partying all night in the beach town of Oceanside, California Jones was found dead in the bedroom of a friend's house.

The coroner's report listed her death as an accidental drug overdose. Cocaine, PCP, methaqualone and Seconal were found in her system during an autopsy. The coroner who examined Jones reported that she had died from one of the most severe drug overdoses he had ever seen.

She left $63,000 in cash and more than $100,000 in savings bonds when she died.

Jones had no funeral and no grave marker because she had not wanted her grave to become a tourist attraction. Her body was cremated and her ashes were scattered over the Pacific Ocean on September 1, 1976.

In 1984 her brother Paul Jones also died of a drug overdose.

The Day The Great Lenny Bruce Died

On August 3, 1966, Bruce was found dead in the bathroom of his Hollywood Hills home at 8825 Kings Road. The "official" photo, taken at the scene, showed Bruce lying naked on the floor, a syringe and burned bottle cap nearby, along with various other narcotics paraphernalia.

His official cause of death was acute morphine poisoning caused by an accidental overdose.

Lenny Bruce (October 13, 1925 – August 3, 1966), born Leonard Alfred Schneider, was an American stand-up comedian, writer, social critic and satirist of the 1950s and 1960s.

His 1964 conviction in an obscenity trial led to the first posthumous pardon in New York history.

After his death he was interred in Eden Memorial Park Cemetery in Mission Hills, California, but an unconventional memorial on August 21 was controversial enough to keep his name in the spotlight.

The service saw over 500 people pay their respects, led by legendary record producer Phil Spector. Cemetery officials had tried to block the ceremony after advertisements for the event encouraged attendees to bring box lunches and noisemakers. Dick Schaap famously eulogized Bruce in Playboy, with the memorable last line: "One last four-letter word for Lenny: Dead. At forty. That's obscene."

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Kitty Bruce, who lives in Pennsylvania as of the 2000s.
