POPULAR SINGER: "Mobster once tried to throw me out a 14th-story window..."

VIC Damone, whose velvety voice is heard on "Mad Men," says a mobster once tried to throw him out a 14th-story window. The Post's Kyle Smith reports that in "Singing Was the Easy Part," out in June from St. Martin's, Damone writes that he broke his engagement to a mob princess when she called his mom a "bitch" for giving her cooking tips.

That prompted her dad, an upstate Mafia boss, to summon him to a room at Manhattan's Edison Hotel, where he grabbed Damone and rushed him toward an open window.
